What can you expect at a meeting?

Our meetings are friendly and fun. Most members experience a fear of public speaking and we are very supportive of each other. We evaluate one another as peers and provide valuable feedback to help each other improve. At 7.15 pm our members arrive and guests are welcomed (see below). The meeting begins at 7.30 pm. There are usually 3 prepared speeches and 3 evaluations with constructive feedback on the speeches. After a 10 minute break, we have a session of impromptu speeches called ‘Table Topics’, which are evaluated. After this, all speakers who have not been evaluated are given feedback and everyone has an opportunity to learn and grow.

When and where do we meet?

We meet in person on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month from 7.15 – 9.30 pm. Just up the stairs on the 1st floor at the Tunbridge Wells Bridge Club, 40 London Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, TN1 1DL.  

Where to park?

There is free parking on London Road or paid parking in Tunbridge Wells station car park just around the corner. Alas parking outside the Bridge Club is for Bridge Club members only, sorry. Please click here for a map and parking suggestions.

How can you benefit?

Depending on what you want to gain from coming along, we hope we can help. If you want to improve your ability to speak in front of a group, we can definitely help as our education program is targeted towards that. For impromptu speaking, we have Table Topics. For leadership and management skills, there are numerous opportunities in Toastmaster meeting and club officer roles. Lastly, the various evaluations in meetings can help you reflect on your skills and how you can build on these. Come along and see what we can offer.
